RGV FC Set for Copa Tejas Matchup

EDINBURG, Texas - Rio Grande Valley FC (5-5-8) is set to face fellow Texas side, El Paso Locomotive FC (9-5-4) on Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. CST. This will be the first meeting of 2023 between the sides, as well as RGV FC's first Copa Tejas meeting of the season.
Rio Grande Valley find themselves in great shape after locking in yet another big home win, this time against Orange County SC who were on a good run themselves heading into the July 9th matchup. The match ended in a 2-0 victory for Rio Grande, as Wahab Ackwei and Jonathan Ricketts scored one goal each to boost thei season stats offensively as the duo now tallies at least two goals apiece.
EL Paso Locomotive suffered a midweek stumble against San Antonio FC and are looking to defend their home field as RGV FC is steamrolling on their current 6-0 run, with 2 wins, 4 draws. The very dangeroud offensive pieces for Locomotive FC will definitely test RGV all night, as they rely on their defensive unit to keep things deadlocked for the majority of the match. This is not going to be an easy task for either side, but there will be fireworks.
