Location: ONEOK Field, Tulsa, Oklahoma

Hartford Athletic begin a three-game road trip against FC Tulsa this Saturday night, looking to snap a five-game losing streak against a team they beat twice in 2022.

LAST TIME OUT

Hartford Athletic are coming off a 2-0 loss to San Diego Loyal SC last Saturday. San Diego was in control for the majority of the match, taking the lead in the 18th minute on an Evan Conway goal. Conway would strike again in the second half, putting Hartford down two goals in the 60th minute. Athletic had just one shot on target from Prince Saydee, and struggled to challenge San Diego in their attacking play as a whole.

KIBATO BACK IN ACTION AGAINST FORMER CLUB

Kembo Kibato is back and healthy for Hartford after missing over three months due to a foot injury. It's a big positive for Hartford, as Kibato provides great energy as a box-to-box midfielder and can help Coach Namazi piece together his fully healthy lineup as Hartford tries to right the ship in the second half of the season. Kibato also played for Tulsa for two seasons (2021 and 2022), earning the fan's choice Newcomer of the Year award at the end of the 2021 season.

SCORING MORE ON THE ROAD

Despite the results, Hartford Athletic have actually played better soccer on the road than at home if you measure that by total goals scored. They've scored 12 goals on the road in comparison to their eight at home, and have scored first in six of their eight away games so far this year. This fact goes to show that Hartford have consistently come out of the gate on the front foot when playing away from home, but have been unable to sustain their positive play and stay in control of each match.

MATCHUP HISTORY

Hartford enjoyed the season sweep of Tulsa in 2022, edging them out for a 2-1 victory on the road last August and a 3-2 victory at home in September. Prince Saydee scored one of the best goals of his career in the second meeting, a stunning strike from 18 yards out against FC Tulsa that will live in Hartford Athletic's all-time highlight reel

ABOUT THE OPPONENT

After losing three matches in a row, FC Tulsa has won three consecutive games coming into Saturday's match. After a midweek win against Miami FC, Tulsa sits seventh in the Eastern Conference table with a 5-7-7 record (22 points). Amidst a three-game homestretch, FC Tulsa looks to stay hot after outsourcing their opponents 5-2 in their last three matches.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Hartford Athletic: Conor McGlynn, MF #28

Conor McGlynn is in his fourth season with Hartford Athletic. Top five in appearances, starts, and minutes played, McGlynn has been a staple in the back half for Athletic so far this season. The Middle Village, New York native leads the team in tackles won (22) and is second in clearances (48). The 6'4 midfielder also has double digit blocks, not afraid to put his body on the line for the club.

FC Tulsa: Marcus Epps, FW #7

Marcus Epps is FC Tulsa's leading goal scorer with five goals. In the club's last match against Indy Eleven, Epps curved the ball into the back of the net from the top of the box just past the stretched out of the goalkeeper. He has 28 goals in 153 appearances in the USL Championship. Epps has three different stints in the MLS, and has scored three goals in 35 matches.
