COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - The New England Revolution (13-5-9, 48 pts; . - 2nd in East.) will visit the Colorado Rapids (3-13-10; 19 pts.- 14th in West.) on Saturday night at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The match kicks off at 9:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English and Spanish. Saturday's contest also airs locally on the radio via 98.5 The Sports Hub, with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies on the call, and on 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA in Portuguese.

The Revolution enter the second match of a three-game road swing on the verge of clinching a berth in the Audi 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs. New England can seal its postseason berth with a win at Colorado and a draw between D.C. United and Charlotte FC. The Revolution can also clinch their fourth postseason appearance over the last five seasons with a victory over the Rapids, combined with a D.C. United loss at Charlotte FC and a Chicago Fire FC loss at CF Montréal.

Last weekend, New England battled to a 1-1 draw at Minnesota United FC last weekend, where a last-second equalizer from the hosts forced the Revolution to share the points. The Revolution attack featured standout performances from brothers Nacho and Carles Gil, who connected on a goal for the first time in their professional careers. Carles Gil netted the opening goal of last weekend's contest, his team-leading eighth tally of the 2023 campaign, on assists from his younger brother and Matt Polster. With assists in back-to-back games, Nacho Gil seeks his fourth consecutive MLS start, while Carles Gil has eclipsed 20 goal contributions for the third consecutive season. Meanwhile, Polster will miss Saturday's match due to yellow card accumulation.

New England last played against Colorado on Oct. 27, 2021, when the Revolution registered a 1-0 shutout win during the clubs' Supporters' Shield campaign. The Revolution hold an 18-20-9 record against the fellow MLS original side dating back to the league's inaugural season in 1996. New England has claimed wins in the last three meetings, while Colorado is only 1-4-7 on their home field this season. The Rapids have struggled to find the back of the net of late, going scoreless in their last five games, as they sit last in the MLS standings. Colorado fell to Real Salt Lake, 2-0, in its most recent match on Sept. 2.

Veteran center back Omar Gonzalez continues to provide a steady presence in New England's backline. Gonzalez, who appeared on MLS Team of the Matchday bench, seeks his fifth consecutive start in central defense alongside Dave Romney, who continues to play every minute this season for the Revolution. Romney, who owns the most league starts by an MLS outfield player since the start of 2020, maintains his position among MLS leaders in clearances (T-2nd- 130) and aerials won (3rd- 94) this season. Behind them in net, goalkeeper Earl Edwards Jr. has started the last four games, tallying a 1-1-2 record during that span.

Multiple players returned to the squad following international duty. Midfielder Noel Buck is back in his native Massachusetts after making two appearances, with one goal scored, for the England Under-19 Men's National Team. Left back DeJuan Jones also rejoined the Revolution this week after briefly joining the U.S. Men's National Team for a 15-minute shift in its friendly against Oman, a 4-0 win for the Stars and Stripes. The appearance marked Jones' seventh international cap with the USMNT.

The New England Revolution head into Saturday's match in Colorado under the guidance of Interim Head Coach Clint Peay, who was appointed to the post on Tuesday. Peay, a 20-year coaching veteran and two-time MLS Cup winner as a player, has led New England's second team, Revolution II, as its head coach for the last four seasons, helping guide the team to a berth in the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs.
