Nashville SC News Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Nashville Soccer Club (11W-9L-7D, 40 pts.) will return from international break with another multi-match road week as it travels to face Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday, Sept. 20 and San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, Sept. 23.
Nashville SC has clashed with Sporting KC thrice before, holding a 1W-2L-0D series record and a 1W-1L-0D record at Children's Mercy Park. Nashville SC's last trip to Children's Mercy Park resulted in a 2-1 win for the Tennessee side in April 2022.
Nashville SC will look to earn its first win over the San Jose Earthquakes, as both previous contests resulted in draws. Nashville SC's last meeting with the California side was a scoreless draw at GEODIS Park. Previously, Hany Mukhtar scored the two goals Nashville SC has recorded against the Earthquakes at PayPal Park.
Nashville SC's MLS NEXT Pro affiliate team Huntsville City FC (9W-11L-6D, 4 SOW, 37 pts.) is also gearing up for an important week as it plays its final two games in the MLS NEXT Pro regular season to push for the playoffs. Huntsville City FC currently sits in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, just above the playoff line. The Alabama side will have a pivotal meeting at the Philadelphia Union II on Sunday, Sept. 17 that could determine its playoff fate before it takes on Chicago Fire II the following weekend to end its regular season.
