New England Revolution News Release

TORONTO, Ontario - The New England Revolution (1-5-1; 4 pts.) are in Canada for a visit Toronto FC (3-4-1; 10 pts.) on Saturday night at BMO Field. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET and airs on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app in English and Spanish. Listen to the Revolution's local radio broadcast on 98.5 The Sports Hub HD2 (WBZ-FM) with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies on location calling the action, and on 1260 AM "Nossa Radio USA" in Portuguese. Tune into MLS Countdown for one full hour of MLS pregame coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Revolution lead the all-time series against Toronto FC, carrying a 16-11-13 record against the Reds into the Matchday 10 meeting. New England has picked up points in its last three visits to BMO Field, with two wins and one draw. The Revolution collected a 2-0 victory in their most recent trip to Toronto on May 6, 2023, behind goals from forward Bobby Wood and defender DeJuan Jones. Wood owns two goals scored, including one game-winning tally, and one assist over three career games played against the Reds. Meanwhile, Jones will be out for Saturday's match due to a hamstring strain.

Toronto FC logged a 1-0 victory over New England in the first meeting between the two sides earlier this season on March 3. The Reds enter Saturday's match on a three-game losing streak, having been outscored by a 10-3 margin, including a 3-2 defeat to Charlotte FC last weekend. Italian playmaker Lorenzo Insigne, the lone goal scorer in the teams' first meeting this year, has been sidelined over the last three games due to a hamstring injury. His fellow Italy international Federico Bernardeschi has played every minute of Toronto's season thus far. The Reds are under the direction of first-year head coach John Herdman, who previously managed Canada's Men's and Women's National Teams.

New England remains in search of its first points on the road as the team embarks on the second leg of a two-game road swing, following a 2-0 defeat at New York City FC last weekend at Yankee Stadium. The Revolution battled New York City FC to a scoreless opening half, before the hosts netted two goals in the second half to seal the victory. New England's attack generated five shots on target in the loss, including a header on frame from forward Tomás Chancalay after a pinpoint cross from midfielder Carles Gil. In net, goalkeeper Henrich Ravas recorded four saves in the Slovakia international's 10th start across all competitions this season, in which he has four clean sheets.

Gil enters this weekend's contest two goal contributions shy of becoming the fourth player in Revolution history to reach 100 combined goals and assists in MLS regular season play. The 31-year-old Spaniard continues to pace New England with three goals scored this season, while ranking second in MLS with 22 key passes. The 2021 MLS MVP and two-time MLS Best XI midfielder is set to record his 150th start for New England across all competitions.
