FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - New England Revolution II (1-2-1, 4 pts.) played to a 2-2 draw with Chattanooga Red Wolves SC (1-0-1, 4 pts.) on Sunday night at Gillette Stadium. Academy midfielder Noel Buck (2005 - Arlington, Mass.) became the first Revolution Academy youth player to score in a professional match for New England, netting a 54th-minute tally. Chattanooga's Angel Espana scored a pair of goals seven minutes apart to level the match.
Revolution II opened the scoring in the 37th minute when forward Justin Rennicks got on the end of a Connor Presley cross, sliding a shot that deflected off Chattanooga defender Jason Ramos for an own goal. Noel Buck doubled the lead in the 54th minute, again connecting with a Presley cross.
Defender Pierre Cayet became the 27th player to debut for Revolution II, starting and playing 90 minutes at center back in his first appearance since signing with the club on April 28. New England defender Ryan Spaulding put in another 90-minute effort and became the new club leader for minutes played (1,442) and games started (17) with Revolution II.
New England will be off next weekend, returning to action on Friday, May 28 against Fort Lauderdale CF at Gillette Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

New England Revolution II played to a 2-2 draw with Chattanooga Red Wolves SC on Sunday evening, shifting their record to 1-2-1 (4 pts.) on the season. Their all-time record vs. Chattanooga moves to 0-2-1.
Academy midfielder Noel Buck became the first Revolution Academy player to score a goal in a professional match, sliding home a low cross in the 54th minute to double the New England advantage.
Buck, who hails from Arlington, Mass., made his second start and fourth appearance of the season. In 76 minutes, he recorded two shots on target and won 13 duels.
Defender Pierre Cayet became the 27th different Revolution II player to make his professional debut since the club began play in 2020, starting in his first appearance since signing with New England in April. Cayet played 90 minutes in his professional debut, recording team highs in clearances (6) and interceptions (5) while adding eight recoveries.
Midfielder Michel made his first start, and third appearance, of the season on Sunday night. The Brazilian midfielder was acquired in December from Botafogo F.R. where he was Academy teammates with Revs II product Maciel, who made the start for the Revolution first team earlier in the night.
Defender Ryan Spaulding set a pair of Revolution II records with his 90-minute performance on Sunday, passing Maciel for most minutes played (1,442) and games started (17) in the club's two-year history.
Homegrown Players Justin Rennicks and Damian Rivera both started for the fourth straight game this season. Rennicks played 76 minutes and finished with two chances created while Rivera set a new career high with six shots.

On the thoughts about tonight's match:
Coach Peay: "Overall, I thought the guys had a good performance. We moved the ball comfortably and we were able to create numerous opportunities and limited them to very little. But, you know, weren't good enough defensively in some little details and it cost us three points."
On tactical change of formation to a 4-3-3:
Coach Peay: "Yeah, we just want to be unpredictable. We moved some pieces around and we just asked guys to kind of recognize where the space are, how to move the opponent to create space for ourselves to be able to move the ball forward."
On keeping the offense trending in the right direction:
Coach Peay: "It's about the details. Executing the moments when you have a team's backs against the wall. And you have to be able to do that consistently in a game where you put them under pressure."
On Noel Buck's performance tonight and Buck becoming the first Revolution Academy player to score a goal:
Coach Peay: "Yeah, it's great. He's been working very hard. Super thrilled for him. I thought he had a pretty good game. So, yeah, very pleased with his efforts and happy that he was able to contribute."
On the 2-2 result after opening holding a 2-0 lead:
Coach Peay: "I think we know what we did wrong. In the moment, we just have to be more aware of how to deal with situations. I don't think it was about being mentally tough. I think it was just about being more intelligent about how we deal with scenarios."
On if the lack of a consistent schedule has impacted the team:
Coach Peay: "No. I don't think so. It's all part of it. I think we'll use the time to try to think about what we can improve upon. Try to focus on that, but also what has been working and just kind of pushing the group forward."

On what it meant to score your first goal and the scoring play:
Buck: "Oh, it's incredible. It's anything a young kid could ask for. It was played out to, I think, (Justin) Rennicks and I was going to run ahead of him on the underlap, but I chose to come around, back post. And it ricocheted and I just passed it in."
On what has been learned about himself and professional soccer as a whole:
Buck: "It's definitely just quicker. You've got to be faster on the ball. And especially with scoring a goal, you have to get in the box, you have to make the run, and make the play to be able to score a goal."
On what the team needs to do to consistently score goals:
Buck: "I think we've got to keep the energy high. I think we, especially towards the end of the game, we ran out of steam. So, there were less runs in behind. So, if we get fit, keep making the runs, playing the ball behind, I think we'll be able to have some more success going forward."
New England Revolution Defender Ryan Spaulding
On protecting an early lead:
Spaulding: "It was great getting the first goal, especially in front of the fans. I think it's always good to get off on a strong foot getting an early goal, especially at home. This is our stadium, we're trying to be dominant here and win as many games as possible so scoring early and getting the upper hand early on is especially good for our confidence."
On sharpening up defensively:
Spaulding: "The main thing is just putting in a shift for the entire game and not taking a second off. I thought for 98 percent of the game we were solid defensively but that two percent, they get two goals and that definitely dampens the mood. I mean, it feels like a loss after you give up two goals that quickly, especially with how we were playing throughout the whole game."
On making the most of his opportunities with Revolution II:
Spaulding: "It's been great here with Revs II. I think the development I've had as a player is amazing. Obviously, the coaching is great, training at a high level every day and I just try to push myself and use the resources around me to just get better and continue my growth as a player. Hopefully, I can make that step up to the next team."
