FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - New England Revolution II (4-6-1, 13 pts.) dropped a 3-0 result to Greenville Triumph SC (6-2-3, 21 pts.) on Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium. Greenville striker Marios Lomis scored all three goals for the visitors, pushing his league-leading total to 11 for the season.

New England created several chances during the opening minutes of the match, including one by Ryan Sierakowski as his cross just missed the outstretched foot of Justin Rennicks. Midfielders Michel and Jake Rozhansky also fired threatening shots just wide prior to the opening goal for Greenville.

Revolution Academy graduate and defender Tyler Freitas made his first professional start on Sunday at right back, playing 71 minutes and recording team highs in tackles (3) and clearances (2). Revolution Academy forward Michael Tsicoulias also featured for the hosts, his second inclusion in the starting lineup this season. The 18-year-old recorded one shot on target and one chance created.

New England will remain home this week to host Toronto FC II on Friday, July 9 at Gillette Stadium in the first-ever meeting between the two teams. Kickoff for Friday's fixture is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

New England Revolution II dropped a 3-0 result on Sunday at home against Greenville Triumph SC, shifting their record to 4-6-1 in the 2021 USL League season. The all-time series against Greenville is now tied at 1-1-0.

The loss was New England's first at home since May 12, snapping a three-game unbeaten run in Gillette Stadium. Sunday also marked the first time New England has hosted an afternoon match in club history, with their all-time record in matinees shifting to 1-2-0.

Revolution II Head Coach Clint Peay made four changes to the Starting XI from last Saturday's victory, with Earl Edwards Jr., Tyler Freitas, Noel Buck, and Michael Tscioulias all starting in place of Joe Rice, Sean O'Hearn, Hikaru Fujiwara, and Damian Rivera.

Academy forward Michael Tsicoulias earned his second start of the season - and third of his career - on Sunday afternoon. The Newton, Mass. native played 57 minutes, finishing the day with one shot on target and one chance created.

Academy graduate Tyler Freitas started for the first time in his professional career, playing 71 minutes at right back. The 21-year-old, who was named the 2019 UnitedHealthcare Revolution Academy Player of the Year, finished the day completing 36 of his 39 passes, including one key pass, and team-highs in tackles (3) and clearances, (2).

Fellow Revs Academy graduates Noel Buck, Colby Quinones, Dennis Ramirez, Meny Silva, and Hikaru Fujiwara all featured in Sunday's contest. Buck made his 11th appearance and sixth start of the season.

First team goalkeeper Earl Edwards Jr. made his fourth appearance for Revolution II this season, registering one save.

Defender Pierre Cayet put in his eighth consecutive 90-minute shift since signing with the club in April, recording team highs in tackles (3) and possessions gained (14) as well as one chance created.

Defender Ryan Spaulding had a team-high four shots on Sunday to go along with two chances created, eight possessions gained, seven duels won, and three interceptions.

Midfielder Michel played 88 minutes on Sunday, registering two shots, a pair of chances created, 10 recoveries, two interceptions, and a team-best 11 duels won.

Midfielder Jake Rozhansky celebrated his 25th birthday on Sunday, completing 62 of 68 passes along with one shot attempt and eight recoveries.

On the overall thoughts of the match:

Coach Peay: "I thought we were poor in some particular moments that were critical, and they made all the difference in the game. I didn't think we were good enough in the final third with the quality of our shooting, the quality of our final ball, and then the effort and determination to get on the end of service when service was delivered in a good way."

On if the fullbacks were opportunistic enough to utilize the open spaces on the wings:

Coach Peay: "I think we got Ryan Spaulding forward a couple times and I think Tyler (Freitas), as the second half wore on, he was able to get forward more. No, I think, for our guys, it's about providing different solutions that they think makes sense and sometimes it can take a little more time to recognize some of those overlays. But I thought in general, we were able to get the ball in good wide areas, but we weren't able really turn them, especially after giving up some goals."

On the difficulties retaliating once Greenville Triumph SC scored as began to sit deeper in defense:

Coach Peay: "Yeah, a little bit. You know, they're going be smart and protect the goal, protect their lead, and delay the game and get numbers behind the ball. So, at that point, it always becomes a challenge. And how do you open up a team that's sitting in a lower block and yeah, it was difficult for us."

On the play of Tyler Freitas and what has been seen in recent weeks that lead to his playing opportunity:

Coach Peay: "He's an intelligent player. He's worked hard from day one, since he's joined us and we just thought it was a good opportunity for him to play."

On Michel's play and what has been his biggest improvement and his involvement in today's match:

Coach Peay: "I think he had more purpose to his game today, from an attacking standpoint, more direct, more explosive. So, I thought that was good."

On how it felt to get his first professional start today:

Tyler Freitas: "It felt great, in front of all of my family and friends. Obviously, it wasn't the result we wanted. But my first professional start, it was just really good to get minutes and I feel I did well for my team. I did what I could. Yeah, it was just a really, really good experience overall."

On if the team took advantage of the wide battles early:

Tyler Freitas: "I think the way we're playing, is the outside backs are going inside. So, we're trying to isolate our wingers. I feel as though we didn't do a good enough job today trying to do that, but I think overall, we got better as the game went on. But I didn't think we took full advantage of our wings and their speed, like runs in behind. I think we could have been better."

On conceding the first goal and how that impacted the rest of the half and the game:

Tyler Freitas: "I think, it wasn't deflating at all. I mean, I think those few good chances motivated us and we knew that we were the better team for most of the first half and for the good. I think we just got unlucky with the chances we didn't score. So, I don't think it was deflating at all. We picked our heads up. We played a lot better, but we just didn't finish our chances."

On the team's confidence level and if they still feel they can turn a corner:

Tyler Freitas: "Listen, this team, we're all together. We're family. At any point, we can change. Our confidence has never left. We have good confidence, but I just think we create chances. We just need to finish them. And if we start finishing our chances, I think we'll get more wins and be better. It'll be better."
