FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - New England Revolution II defender François Dulysse has been called into the Haiti Men's National Team for the preliminary rounds of the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup.
Dulysse, 22, earns his first senior national team call-up after representing Haiti at the Under-20 and Under-23 levels. The defender, hailing from Greenacres, Fla., played all 270 minutes for the Haiti U-23 side during Concacaf Olympic Qualifying group stage in March. Dulysse was also capped on three additional occasions for the Haiti U-20 team during the 2018 Concacaf U-20 Championships.
A graduate of Manhattan College where he played his final two collegiate seasons, Dulysse signed his first professional contract with Revolution II on Dec. 8, 2020. He was subsequently selected by the New England Revolution in the second round (51st overall) of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft on Jan. 21, 2021. Dulysse spent time in preseason training with the Revolution first team before joining up with Revs II ahead of the 2021 USL League One campaign. He made his professional debut on April 10 in Revolution II's season opener and has since played in six games, starting five. Dulysse has completed 88 percent of his 250 passes on the season out of central defense.
Dulysse is one of 24 players named to Haiti's 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup qualifying roster. Haiti will take on St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday, July 2 at 4:30 p.m. ET in the first of two preliminary rounds. A victory for Haiti will set up a final qualifying match against the winner of Bermuda and Barbados, with that match scheduled for Tuesday, July 6 at 7:00 p.m. ET. All Concacaf Gold Cup preliminary matches will be held at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Should Haiti advance out of qualifying, they will enter the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup in Group B alongside the United States, Canada, and Martinique. A pair of New England Revolution players will see action in Group B after being named to their respective national team rosters on Monday. Goalkeeper Matt Turner was named to the U.S. Men's National Team squad, and forward Tajon Buchanan will join Canada after earning his first four caps during Concacaf World Cup Qualifying in June.
