New England Revolution II News Release
TORONTO - New England Revolution II (4-1-2, 15 pts.) defeated Toronto FC II (3-4-1, 10 pts.), 1-0, at BMO Field on Saturday evening. Brazilian forward Marcos Dias tallied his first goal of the season while goalkeeper Jacob Jackson notched his third straight clean sheet in MLS NEXT Pro.
Dias led Revolution II with four shots and two on target, including a bicycle kick attempt in the 25th minute that missed just wide of the top-left corner. The forward broke the stalemate in the 47th minute after fellow Brazil native Michel sent a cross into the center of the box. Dias drove it home with a right-footed shot into the right side of the net for his first goal with New England and the game's lone score.
Jackson returned to the net and continued his dominant play for New England's second team as he made two saves and logged his third consecutive clean sheet. The rookie goalkeeper's most notable stop came in the 32nd minute as he made a one-on-one denial of a Toronto attacker following a turnover in the penalty area.
With the victory, Revolution II Head Coach Clint Peay picked up his 20th league win with the club. New England returns to action on Sunday, May 22 as Revolution II stays on the road to take on FC Cincinnati 2 at NKU Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. ET on MLSNEXTPro.com.

New England Revolution II Head Coach Clint Peay
On Marcos Dias' first goal of the season:
Peay: "It was an important goal. Obviously scoring first is always a positive thing for any team and for him to get on the board early for us and help us kind of secure the win was huge. I'm just super proud of the guys."
On his assessment of the game:
Peay: "We thought it was important to come out and play better and be better on the ball. I thought we did that overall. Coming out at halftime, we really emphasized that first five to ten minutes to push and see if we can get that goal and fortunately, we were able to, to do that and that's always a good thing. Scoring early in second half relieves a little bit of pressure. And then from there, it was about trying to manage the game because Toronto's a good team and we knew they would counter us and probably create a chance or two so we wanted to minimize that and if we could get that second one great, if not, get out of here with the 1-0 win."
On Michel connecting with Dias for the goal:
Peay: "Michel provides a lot of positive energy running out of the midfield. He did a good job connecting with Italo on the wide area, was able to be composed and pick his head up to find Marcos [Dias] in the middle and it's I think something that he could continue to add and bring to our team. Obviously, they had a good connection on the goal which was critical."
Revolution II Forward Marcos Dias

On how it feels to score his first goal of the season:
Dias: "I'm very happy to score my first. I hope it's the first of many with this team."
On his experience so far in New England:
Dias: "It has been a very good experience. Everyone here at the club has received me very well which has helped my adaptation. I will continue to do my best to help my teammates."
Revolution II Midfielder Jake Rozhansky
On the boost Dias' goal provided to the team:
Rozhansky: "It was definitely a boost for him personally and for the team because we did have a little issue with scoring goals the past couple of games, it was kind of like pressure lifted off his shoulders and the whole team's shoulders, and just a really good moment for him because in his debut, he had chances to score and he played well, just didn't go in for him, so it was definitely a nice feeling for him and the team that he finally scored today."
On the defensive and goalkeeping efforts of the team needed to record another clean sheet:
Rozhansky: "Jacob [Jackson] had another good performance and I think defensively we played well. We limited them to a very small amount of chances, and I think we've done pretty well the whole season defensively. We try to press, try to put the other team under pressure and win balls high up and try to limit the other team's chances as much as we can, and I think we did a good job of that today."
On making his 30th start and surpassing 2,500 minutes played as captain of Revolution II:
Rozhansky: "Yeah, I was not aware of. It feels nice to hear that. Between this year and last year, a lot of things have changed, players have changed and the club has changed a bit I think, and I'm just happy that I could reach that mark and hopefully continue my minutes streak and just continue leading, and hopefully I'm doing a good job for the guys because I do love my teammates and this team, so just makes me happy to hear that."
