POSTGAME QUOTES: New England Revolution II 1 vs Inter Miami CF II 0
New England Revolution II Head Coach Clint Peay
On his assessment of the defensive effort throughout the game:
Peay: "The guys played really well. I thought defensively we worked very hard for each other, and I thought the communication on the field was pretty good, so they did everything we asked."
On Ítalo coming out of the game and his performance through the first half:
Peay: "No, we just had Ryan Spaulding from the first team and wanted to make sure that we got him 45 minutes today, so it was just a simple change. I thought he did really well, provided some dangerous balls, obviously. Kind of got the pseudo assist on the goal, and I think he's getting better defensively."
On Marcos Dias' Revolution II debut and the effort he displayed to earn a penalty kick opportunity early on:
Peay: "So it's early, but you can see the quality that he'll bring to our side going forward in the attack. Unfortunate that he didn't score on the penalty but treated the chance very well with his movement and we're just going to continue to work with him to push the envelope."
On Jacob Jacksons' performance today:
Peay: "I thought the defense played very well, but I don't know if he had to make a real save, but he was steady in set piece scenarios and commanded his box well."
Revolution Goalkeeper Jacob Jackson
On earning two consecutive clean sheets:
Jackson: "To be honest, it's been, it's been fun playing with the Revolution II, they come every day and work really hard, and it shows on the field. I haven't had to take many shots, and I think that's a credit to the defenders, Pierre [Cayet], Ben [Reveno], [José] Ítalo, Ryan Spaulding coming down, they really put in some work and effort to help me out, so I give a lot of credit to them."
On remaining undefeated:
Jackson: "It doesn't mean much to me. I mean, I look at it as every game is a learning experience. And as a result, we want to win. You know, that's why we all play but at the end of the day, it's cool that we're undefeated. But we still got to work. We still have to continue doing what we can to win games and continue just striving to be better players."
Revolution II Defender Ben Reveno
On his and the team's performance:
Reveno: "I thought I played well. I mean, I would say everyone honestly played well. We played collective, followed Clint [Peay]'s tactics, and I think that's what got us a win."
On goalkeeper Jacob Jackson's role in two consecutive clean sheets:
Reveno: "I mean, he's [Jacob Jackson] been leading us from the back. I think it's very important for a goalkeeper to bring energy and leadership, so that's what he's been doing and if he keeps it up, I think we can keep getting victories."
On how the team looks to use their momentum going into the next game vs. Columbus:
Reveno: "Just got to take it one game at a time. Just take it like every other game, so if we could do that, we could win."
