New England Revolution News Release

PHILADELPHIA - The New England Revolution acquired two draft selections in today's MLS SuperDraft from the New York Red Bulls in exchange for the rights to defender Chris Albright. The Revolution gained selections in the second round (31st overall) and third round (48th overall) from the Red Bulls.

Albright, 31, was a member of the Revolution for two seasons after being traded to New England in a draft-day trade in 2008. Albright made 27 appearances in his tenure with the Revs, including 26 in 2008 when he played a career-high 2,340 minutes. He was limited to just one appearance in 2009 after an early-season knee injury ultimately ended his season.

An 11-year veteran of MLS, Albright began his career with D.C. United before being traded to the LA Galaxy. He was a member of the United States' squad at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, and has 22 caps with the national team.

With the trade completed, the Revolution now holds five selections in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft, which is being held today at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, beginning at 2 p.m. ET. The Revs have one selection in the first round (ninth overall), two in the second round (25th and 31st overall), one in the third round (48th overall) and one in the fourth round (57th overall).
