
Revolution Announce Mitchell Jenkins as Head Coach

Greensboro, NC. Team Owner Tony Pewonski has announced that former Revolution Line backer Mitchell Jenkins, will now serve as the Revolution head coach. Jenkins, a former defensive coordinator of the Greensboro Ghostrides, is replacing Revolution head coach Mark Saunders, who resigned on Wednesday due to personal reasons.
Jenkins, brings over 10 years of semi-professional football experience to the Revolution. "We are really excited to be able to promote someone from within the organization as head coach," stated Revolution Owner Tony Pewonski. "I know that Coach Jenkins will continue to build on the work that Mark Saunders has put in place. The changes Coach Jenkins has made will improve our team and give us a chance to make an appearance in this year's playoffs."
Jenkins comes to Greensboro from Greensville, SC where he played defensive back for one season for the Crusaders of North Greenville College. Jenkins later transferred to Greensboro College where he played linebacker for the remaining of his college career. Jenkins resides in Greensboro with his wife Wanda and their two children Kandise and Mitchell Jr.
Joining Jenkins on his coaching staff is former AIFL Ghostriders head coach and Offensive Lineman coach for the former Greensboro Prowlers, Earl Rose. Rose, a former fullback at Appalachian State University comes to the Revolution with over eight years of coaching experience both on the high school and semi-professional level. "With new players on the roster, we are excited about the remainder of this season and the addition of Coach Rose to our staff," stated by head coach Mitchell Jenkins. He and his wife Rose reside in Greensboro with their two kids Alysha and Earl Jr.
The Revolution looks forward to being back on the US Staffing Field at the Greensboro Coliseum Saturday, June 17 as they take on the 5-6 Montgomery Maulers. "This is a big game for our guys and we are making this night a special one for local Father's as well," stated by Dee Mittman, Director of Game Operations and Community Outreach. The night of excitement starts with a recliner to be given away to one luck Father as well as a post-game concert by Burlington, NC own ReRe and Matt.
