Returning Players Highlight Legends' Training Camp Invitees

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visitVeracruz.mx), have announced five returning players and five tryout playerson the training camp roster.

Returning to the Legends from the 2012-13 roster are Chris Douglas-Roberts,Sean Singletary and Melvin Ely. Booker Woodfox and Ramon Dyer were membersof the 2011-12 team and will be returning to training camp.

Douglas-Roberts was a member of the Los Angeles Lakers' summer league andspent the NBA preseason with the New York Knicks. He was the leading scorerfor the Legends in 2012-13 averaging 22.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg and 4.5 apg.Singletary averaged 13ppg, 4.3rpg and 5.6apg for the Legends in 2012-13.Singletary returns to the Legends from Belgium where he averaged 5.2ppg,2.1rpg and 1.4apg in 12 games. Melvin Ely was invited to training camp withthe Memphis Grizzlies where he played into the preseason. In 37 games withthe Legends last season Ely averaged 10.7ppg and 6.6rpg.

Woodfox returns to the Legends from Lithuania where he was averaging 7.7ppgand 1.4rpg. Woodfox was a member of the inaugural Legends' squad and helpedlead the team to their first playoff appearance. Dyer averaged 10.5ppg and7.8rpg in Israel last season. In 2011-12, Dyer averaged 8.5ppg and 7.5rpgfor the Legends.

Five players have also been selected from local tryouts to attend trainingcamp. Sammy Yeager is a guard out of Cal State Fullerton where he averaged15.8ppg 4.4rpg and 2.2apg in his senior season. Javier Gonzalez is a pointguard out of North Carolina State. He spent last season in Puerto Ricowhere he averaged 8ppg, 2.1 rpg and 2.6apg. Adrick McKinney finished hiscareer at Texas Christian University in 2013 averaging 7.5ppg and 6.4rpg.McKinney played two years as a power forward for his hometown team. GarlonGreen is a guard/forward who played with McKinney at TCU. Green averaged8.8ppg and 3.5rpg in his four season at college. Roy Booker comes to theLegends from France where he averaged 19ppg, 2.7rpg and 2.1apg last season.
