Republic FC's Jaime Villarreal Named to USL Championship Team of the Week

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento Republic FC midfielder Jaime Villarreal has been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week. The midfielder, who is entering his second season with Republic FC, scored the game-winning goal in the 85th minute of the club's 1-0 win at home against Austin Bold FC last Saturday.

Villarreal becomes the second Republic FC player to be named to the TOTW this season; forward Cameron Iwasa was named USL Player of the Week for Week 3.

Republic FC (3-1-1, 10 pts) return to action this weekend when they travel north to take on Portland Timbers 2. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. PT and the match will be broadcast live on KQCA My58, Estrella TV Sacramento and ESPN+. The club will host an official watch party at Waterman Brewing Co.
