The Tuesday night match up marks the first ever contest between Sacramento and the Colorado club.

Colorado Rapids entered the tournament in the Third Round and advanced by defeating USL League One club Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC, 3-1, at home.
This year's tournament is the 108th edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup - U.S. Soccer's National Championship.
