Reno Turns It up Late to Down Erie at 2013 NBA D-League Showcase

RENO, NEV., Jan. 9, 2013 - The hometown Reno Bighorns used a fourth quarter comeback to knock off the Erie BayHawks by a score of 94-90 at the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase. Reno ended the game on a 14-2 run as the BayHawks went the final 5:45 without a field goal.

Dar Tucker came off the bench to record a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. During the 14-2 run in the final minutes, Tucker beat the defense down the floor and had a running layup that put Reno ahead with 1:37 remaining. The play was set up by a block on the defensive end by Marcus Landry.

Landry contributed with another great effort, playing over 45 minutes in the game and tallying 16 points, including connecting on four 3-pointers in the contest.

The BayHawks put pressure on the home team when Demonte Harper gave Erie a 77-76 lead to end the third quarter. Erie opened up the fourth by scoring the first seven points and completing a 9-0 run to give them an 84-76 lead with just over nine minutes to play.

D.J. Kennedy recorded a team-high 18 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists. The former guard from St. John's University is in his second season with the BayHawks following a brief stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers at the end of last season.

Jerome Jordan, the league's leader in field goal percentage finished with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Walker Russell recorded 17 points, eight assists and connected on six critical free-throws during the 14-2 run to seal the win.

Reno wrapped up their showcase slate, collecting two wins and moving their record to 7-8. Erie (9-6) will return to the floor tomorrow to play the Texas Legends in the final game of the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase at 7 P.M. PST.
