Reno Aces News Release
RENO, Nev.- Reno Fire Chief Michael Hernandez, on behalf of the firefighters and first responders throughout our community, has been chosen to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Aces Ballpark on Opening Night, the Aces announced today.
Opening Night is set for Thursday, April 5 at 6:35 p.m., as the Aces take on the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. To accommodate the large crowd, gates will open at 5 p.m.
The Aces bestowed this honor upon Hernandez, who represents the courageous firefighters and first responders in our region, for their dedicated service and perseverance-especially in light of the recent fire emergencies in Northern Nevada over the last four-plus months.
Hernandez's appearance is part of a very special Opening Night pregame ceremony, which also includes the unveiling of the Aces' 2011 Division Championship banner and the singing of the National Anthem by Reno native and star of NBC's "The Voice" Whitney Myer.
Select tickets are available for Opening Night, and they can be purchased at the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office, by calling (775) 334-7000 or visiting RenoAces.com. Fans are encouraged to pick-up their tickets for all of Opening Weekend in advance.
