Renegades Dreams Coming True

Rome Renegades News Release


ROME, Ga. - The Rome Renegades (9-1) are currently sitting atop the AIFL's Southern Conference and also hold the best record in the AIFL. One might ask, how does it get any better than that. For many of the Rome Renegades it is getting better every day. Several of Renegades players dreams of moving up to the next level of professional football are coming true. Quarterback Marcus Brady, Offensive Lineman Dwayne Morgan, Offensive Lineman Reggie Poole, Defensive Lineman John Bowman, and Defensive Back Russell Green have all been called up to the next level.

Brady has been called up to the Georgia Force for this week's game and will sign a contract with the Force for next season. Brady will also travel back up to Canada to play for the Montreal Alouettes. So far this season Brady has thrown for 2, 069 yards and 31 touchdowns.

Morgan, has signed a contract with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. Morgan has played seven seasons in the CFL and was a 4-time All-Star. Morgan won the Grey Cup in 1997 with the Toronto Argonauts. Morgan has also played in the NFL with the Washington Redskins and Atlanta Falcons.

Poole, has signed with the Georgia Force for the remainder of the AFL season. He came to the Renegades midway through this season from the Kansas City Brigade. Poole, who played at Cedartown High School, has played five games with the Renegades where has played almost every position on both the offensive and defensive lines in those games.

Bowman and Green have both been invited into camp with the Montreal Alouttes. Bowman, who led the NIFL in sacks last year, has been a force to be reckoned with this year. Bowman is currently among the league leaders in sacks this year with 13. Green has also been a mainstay in the Renegades defensive backfield. Green currently has 8 interceptions and leads the team in tackles with 53.5. Both have been a key parts to the Renegades having one of the top defenses in the league.
