Tacoma, WA - Reign FC announced today that it has signed Canadian midfielder Maegen Kelly as a National Team Replacement Player. Per league and club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Kelly, 27, joins from Italian side Atalanta Mozzanica. She began last season with the Utah Royals, but was released in June without making an appearance. Prior to the Royals, Kelly made 22 appearances for FC Kansas City under current Reign FC head coach Vlatko Andonovski, scoring five goals.
"We are excited to add Maegan to the team," Andonovski said. "She's a player that I am familiar with and I believe she will be able to help keep us competitive during the Women's World Cup."
Kelly was born in Kansas City, Missouri and played her college soccer at Marquette University. A dual U.S.-Canadian citizen, has five appearances for the Canadian Women's National Team. Kelly also has professional experience in Iceland's Stjarnan, Finland's Aland United and Apollon Limassol in Cyprus.
