Reign Claim Right Wing Walker Off Waivers From Phoenix

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign of the ECHL, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings and the AHL Manchester Monarchs, announced today that they claimed RW Geoff Walker off waivers from the Phoenix Roadrunners. Per Club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Walker, 20, joins the Reign after playing four seasons in the QMJHL splitting time with the Gatineau Olympiques and Prince Edward Island Rocket. In his junior career, Walker scored 94 goals, assisted on 159 others (215 points) and tallied 258 penalty minutes in 228 games.

The 6-foot 3-inch, 225-pound, rookie from Charlottetown, PEI led the Rocket in scoring during the 07-08 season with a personal high 38 goals, 52 assists and 90 points in 69 games played. In 2007 Walker attended the Toronto Maple Leafs training camp and participated this season at the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL) training camp.
