Regular Season Finale in Atlanta Moved to 4:00pm
October 14, 2015 - North American Soccer League (NASL)
Ottawa Fury FC News Release
OTTAWA, ON - The kick-off time for the NASL Regular Season Finale between the Atlanta Silverbacks and Ottawa Fury FC has been changed to 4:00pm ET. To accommodate their fan-base on one of the most popular night's of the year, the Silverbacks have moved the kick-off time forward to ensure their fans do not miss out on any Halloween festivities.
Ottawa and Atlanta have met twice this season with Fury FC earning a 1-1 draw on the road in the Spring Season and a 2-1 win at TD Place on July 22 that moved Ottawa into first place in the NASL Fall Standings - a position that they have held ever since.
While Ottawa, New York and Minnesota have all punched their ticket to The Championship - the NASL's four-team postseason tournament - there remains plenty to be played for as Fury FC eye the Fall Season Championship that would see them host a Championship Semifinal match on November 8.
With three regular season matches remaining, Fury FC hold a 3-point edge on Minnesota for the Fall Season Title. Ottawa close out their home schedule this Sunday at TD Place at 3:00pm when they host the San Antonio Scorpions on Fan Appreciation Day. Ottawa will then travel to Jacksonville to face the Armada on October 21 followed by a 10-day break before facing the Silverbacks in Atlanta to complete the regular season.
Ottawa is also single-point behind New York for first place in the NASL Combined Standings, having a game in hand on the Cosmos. If Ottawa can finish ahead of New York in the Combined Standings that would ensure home field advantage throughout the entire Championship (Semifinals and Final).
Tickets to this Sunday's match against San Antonio are available at OttawaFuryFC.com where fans can also purchase tickets to the Championship Semifinal, Championship Final as well their 2016 Season Tickets!
