Eberle & Teubert To Go For Gold
Team Canada advanced to the Gold Medal game of World U-18 Championships with a 3-2 victory over Team Sweden Monday morning. Pats' forward Jordan Eberle assisted on 2 goals including the game winner. So far during the tournament, Eberle has been one of Team Canada's go to forwards as he has collected 2 goals and added 5 assists, in 6 games. Pats' defencemen Colten Teubert has been one of Canada's best rear guards, as the White Rock, B.C native has tallied one assist to go along with 16 penalty minutes and a +5 rating. Canada will face the winner of Russia and the United States in the Gold Medal game which will be played Wednesday morning at 9:00AM. The game will be broadcasted live on TSN.
WHL To Hand Out Hardware
The WHL will be holding their 2008 Awards Luncheon, in Calgary on Wednesday, April 30th. The Pats have two players up for league awards as Linden Rowat is up for the WHL goaltender of the year against Tri-City Americans netminder Chet Pickard. The other member of the Pats that is up for a league award is Jordan Eberle. Eberle is going against Spokane Chiefs defencemen Jared Cowan for the WHL Scholastic Player of the Year.
Pats Prepare for Bantam Draft
The WHL Bantam Draft is slated for Thursday, May 1st, where all the WHL clubs will have the opportunity to draft the top 1993-born players. The Pats will have the 17th overall selection. The Pats have enjoyed recent success in the bantam draft, as a total of 10 players on their recent playoff roster were Pats bantam draft selections. The list includes 1st round selections Colton Teubert (2005), Brett Leffler (2004) and Logan Pyett (2003), as well as 2007-08 leading goal-scorer Jordan Eberle (7th round selection, 2005).
Handful of Pats Potential NHL Draftees
The Pats should have a strong representation at the NHL Entry Draft in Ottawa, Ontario June 20-21. In total, the Pats have the potential of seven players being selected by a big league squad. That group is led by forward Jordan Eberle, whose stock has sky-rocketed this season. The talented sophomore scored 42 goal and 33 assists to lead the Pats in scoring. Another 17-year old looking to make a splash is Colten Teubert. The smooth skating defenseman was ranked as high as 27th overall among North American skaters earlier this season. Defencemen Matt Delahey made a name for himself following the Christmas break. The 18 year old defencemen hit career highs in all statistical categories including 19 points. Another defencemen that has been getting a look from NHL clubs is Curtis Kulchar. Kulchar, played in his first full season in the WHL, where he played in 50 games. The Pats also have three other players that could hear their names called at the NHL draft come June, as Todd Kennedy, Matt Strueby and Jeff Bosch are all eligible for this year's draft.
Pats Prospect Leads Team To Telus Cup
Pats prospect Kyle Mulder led the Winnipeg Thrashers to a 40-0 regular season, a Manitoba League Championship and now a Western Regional Championship. Mulder and Thrashers won the Western Regional AAA Tournament and birth to the Telus Cup, after defeating the Notre Dame Hounds 4-3 in double overtime. Mulder, the Pats 8th round Bantam selection in 2006, (161st overall) scored 23 goals and added 29 assists for 52 points during the regular season and then added 6 goals and 4 assists in 9 playoffs games. The Telus Cup opens up today and goes until the Championship game which is on Sunday. This year's tournament is being held in Arnprior, Ontario.

2008 Wickenheiser Golf Classic
The Regina Pats have confirmed the dates for the 2008 Wickenheiser Golf Classic. The tournament will take place on August 11th, 2008 at the Wascana Golf & Country Club. For more information on the annual event, or to register, call 522-PATS.
