Regina Pats News Release
REGINA - The Regina Pats Hockey Club is pleased to announce the signing of forward Tanner Howe to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.
A product of Prince Albert, Sask., Howe was selected with Regina's fourth pick in the 2020 WHL Draft, going 73rd overall. In 31 games last season with the Prince Albert Pirates of the Saskatchewan U15 AA League, Howe registered 38 goals and 37 assists to lead the Pirates in scoring.
The 5-foot-9 forward started the 2020-21 season with the Prince Albert Mintos of the Saskatchewan Male U18 'AAA' Hockey League, scoring three goals and adding an assist in five games before the season was halted due to COVID-19.
"We're pleased to sign Tanner and thought highly of his play last season at the U15 level," said Pats Vice President of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Paddock. "He was off to a strong start this season with the Mintos and we're excited about the possibilities of him playing for us in Regina, as soon as next season."
By signing in the WHL, Howe gains access to the WHL Scholarship Program. During the 2019-20 academic year, a total of 402 WHL graduates took advantage of the program.
