RedWolves Set Coaching Staff, Add Two Players

The Florence RedWolves announce that Head Coach Blake Walker has hired his coaching staff for the 2013 season, also two players from Middle Tennessee State have joined the summer roster. Levi Maxwell from West Virginia Wesleyan will serve as the RedWolves pitching coach and Cody Painter from University of Central Oklahoma will work with the hitters and catchers this summer. "We are looking forward to having Maxwell and Painter in Florence this summer. They are both very excited to have this opportunity and we believe they along with Coach Walker will make the RedWolves first full season at Sparrow Stadium a very exciting one." Jamie Young, GM

The RedWolves will continue their long history with MTSU by bringing in Junior infielder Hank Larue,(6-1/185) and Junior LHP Nathan Foriest (6-2/210. "Coach Maguire loves sending players to Florence each summer. He appreciates the opportunity to further develop that they get here plus the way they are treated by our community while they are here. Many of the players over the years that come to us from MTSU have gone on to be drafted and even play in the Major Leagues, (Brett Carroll, 2003 with the Marlins, Nationals and Brewers)." The RedWolves are currently booking dates for the 2013 F.A.M. Program. The program is designed to help area non-profit groups raise funds and awareness by partnering with the RedWolves during a home game this season. For more information on how your non-profit organization can take advantage of the FAM program, call the RedWolves office at 629-0700. Groups can also find information on the team website, www.florenceredwolves.com and clicking on the "Non-Profit" link. The RedWolves have 31 home games this season and hope to host a non-profit group at each one of them.

Open House - The RedWolves will hold an open house at Sparrow Stadium on Saturday March 16th from noon-3pm. This will be a great chance for individuals and business owners to come out to tour the new facility. Persons interested in purchasing season tickets or general admission packages for the 2013 season can see the layout and sign up for tickets during this time. Businesses are also encouraged to come out and tour the suite and deck area that can be reserved for company/client outings during the season. Also RedWolves reps will be on hand to answer questions about available opportunities to partner with the RedWolves and brand their business in front of the great RedWolves fans this summer.

The Florence RedWolves are a proud member of the Coastal Plain League, the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 17th season in 2013, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. The CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 57 alums - including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut thus far.
