The RedWolves announce the signing of two infielders for the 2011 season. Shane Basen from UNCC a 6-1, 180-pound So. and Blake Barber a 5-10, 185-pound Jr from nationally ranked Cal-State Fullerton will joining a very talented roster this summer.
Shane is an infielder from Charlotte. Shane has very good hands and quick feet. He has tons of defensive ability. Shane is having a very strong year at the plate and I expect him to be a very solid player for us this summer.
Blake plays infield at Cal State Fullerton. He is very good defensively. He is solid at all the infield positions. He is a tough out offensively. He does all the little thinks as far as bunting well, hit and run, etc...
I expect Shane and Blake to be mainstays in the RedWolve infield this season.
WANT TO BE THE NEW VOICE OF THE REDWOLVES? - The RedWolves are looking for a new Public Address announcer for the 2011 season. Do you love baseball? Do you have a great voice? Do you want to be a part of a great sports franchise? If yes to all of these then you are invited to come out to American Legion Field on Saturday May 7th from noon -2pm to audition for the part. You must be 18 or over and able to attend all RedWolves home games for the 2011 season and be at the field at least one hour before game time. BIG PROMOTIONS- The RedWolves have added two promotional nights this summer that will offer a chance for a lucky RedWolves fan to win big money or a big prize. Moseley Outdoor Power Equipment will have qualifying activities during the regular season that will allow fans over the age of 18 to win a Husqvarna utility vehicle at the July 29th Fan Appreciation home game. "This vehicle is very nice and is a great prize for someone to have a chance to win. We will hold 3 qualifying rounds during the regular season where randomly drawn fans will compete to come back on July 29th for a chance to be the winner, the RedWolves appreciate Moseley Outdoor for sponsoring this promotion". Champion Amusement of Florence is sponsoring a $10,000 night where each inning will be worth $1000 to a lucky fan if a certain baseball event happens in that inning, this night will be held July 16th. "This is going to a lot of fun for our fans and will keep them routing for our players to try and make these events happen during the inning. Each inning and the final outcome of the game will be spelled out each inning of what must happen. If the event happens then we will draw a ticket stub and that fan will take home $1000. We hope to pack the house that night and see what happens, you can't win if you aren't here".
