
RedWolves Announce Signings

Florence RedWolves News Release
The Florence RedWolves announce the first signings for the 2013 season. Will Tankersley and Caleb Smith from USC-Aiken will join the team for this summer. Tankersley is 6-3, 225lb So. outfielder and Smith is a 6-2, 200lb RS-Fr LHP. Both players are expected to be impact players for the 2013 squad.
The 2013 RedWolves season will have 31 home games including the annual Spirit of Florence Celebration game with parachute jumpers and a fireworks show to be held on July 3rd and the game against the USA National Team presented by Five Star Chevrolet. Additional partners include Moseley Outdoor Power Equipment, Chick Fil A and Sports Radio 100.1 The Fan. Baymont Inn and Suites will help the RedWolves welcome the USA National Team to Florence for this first time ever event. Season tickets and general admission game packs are available for the 2013 season. Season tickets are $150 and tickets can be reserved by calling the RedWolves office at 629-0700. HOST FAMILIES NEEDED- Host families for the 2013 players and coaches are needed for the summer. The team will be in Florence from late May - Mid August. Families provide room and board for the players and coaches while they are here for our season. The Florence RedWolves are a proud member of the Coastal Plain League, the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 17th season in 2013, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. The CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 57 alums - including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut thus far.
