Todd Redmond and James Avery put on a pitching exhibition Monday night at Trustmark Park. Neither starter gave up a run, but it was Redmond that came away the winner. Redmond threw seven strong innings and the Braves made him a winner with a run in the seventh inning. It was his team-record 10th win of the season.

The M-Braves broke through in the bottom of the seventh. JC Boscan led off with a double and came around to score on a single by JC Holt. After seven, the Braves led 1-0.

Todd Redmond gave the Braves seven shutout innings and left the game with a 1-0 lead. The strong outing gave Redmond a team-record 10th win. Sung Ki Jung threw a scoreless frame and Luis Valdez earned his 20th save by tossing a scoreless ninth.

James Avery tossed six scoreless innings for the Lookouts and did not factor into the decision. Robert Manuel gave up a run in his inning on the hill and left the game trailing 1-0. Ramon Geronimo threw one shutout inning.

The Braves and Lookouts will play the third game of this five-game set Tuesday night at Trustmark Park at 7:05. Mississippi's Kris Medlen will face Chattanooga's Sam LeCure in game three.
