Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks News Release

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, defending Northern League Champions, have re-signed LHP Jeremy Hauer and LHP Adam Tollefson to contracts for the 2010 season and have traded RHP Yosandy Ibanez to the York Revolution of the Atlantic League for a player to be named later, the Northern League club announced today. Hauer and Tollefson are the first two players to sign with Fargo-Moorhead for the upcoming season.

Hauer, 23, was signed by the RedHawks in late July last season after he had completed his college career at Creighton (NE) University. He quickly became a vital member of the bullpen and posted a 1-2 record with a 1.64 ERA in 14 games. Hauer pitched 22.0 innings and allowed eight runs (four earned) on 12 hits with 19 strikeouts and ten walks. He held opponents to a miniscule.156 batting average against him.

Hauer only got better as the RedHawks moved into the post-season. In the Championship Series, he was 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA in three games (8.0 innings pitched) and was named the series Most Valuable Player. Overall, Hauer pitched in six total playoff games and was 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA while holding opponents to a.226 batting average against him. He pitched 14.0 innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on 12 hits while recording 11 strikeouts.

Tollefson, 23, joined the RedHawks in mid-July last season and became a top situational lefty as the season went along. He was 1-0 with a 5.19 ERA in 15 games and allowed 12 runs (10 earned) on 17 hits in 17.1 innings pitched. Tollefson struck out ten batters, walked seven and held opponents to a.262 batting average against.

In the months of August and September (including playoffs), Tollefson allowed just two runs (one earned) in 12 games. In those 12 games, he pitched 10.2 innings and allowed seven hits while striking out four. Tollefson will be entering his fourth season of professional baseball in 2010.

Ibanez, 28, was 4-3 with a 3.42 ERA and three saves for Fargo-Moorhead in 2009, his only season with the club.
