FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks handed out over 3,500 free tickets to flood volunteers on Saturday morning for the May 17 "Cheers To The Volunteers" game against the Gary SouthShore RailCats, the Northern League club announced today.

The RedHawks will be giving out at least 4,082 free tickets to the game in appreciation to local volunteers who helped battle this spring's floods. The number 4,082 corresponds to the Red River's record crest of 40.82 feet.

The RedHawks ticket office will re-open on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. and tickets will continue to be given out until they are goine. There are just over 500 tickets remaining for the game and will be given out to any flood volunteer on a first-come, first-served basis. The RedHawks Ticket Office is open Monday-Friday from 10:00 am-6:00 pm.

The "Cheers To The Volunteers" event is sponsored by Hornbacher's, Meritcare, Nodak Mutual Insurance, 702 Communications and State Bank & Trust. Additional sponsors for the event are The Forum, WDAY TV, WDAY AM 970 and CI Sport.

In addition to free tickets, the first 5,000 Flood Fighters at the game will receive a t-shirt commemorating the day and the flood battle, while popular local band Carmen The Cactus will play a free post-game concert.
