RedHawks Add Geiger to Roster

FARGO, ND - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have signed 1B Dustin Geiger to a contract. Geiger will be in uniform today for Fargo-Moorhead as the RedHawks play a doubleheader against the Lincoln Saltdogs at Haymarket Park in Lincoln.

Geiger, 24, joins the RedHawks after spending the beginning of the season with the Wichita Wingnuts. In 37 games, he batted .234 with seven doubles, two home runs, 21 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He was released by the Wingnuts on Saturday. Geiger made three stops in the American Association in 2015, beginning with Wichita before playing for the Laredo Lemurs and the Gary SouthShore RailCats.

Geiger was originally selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 24th round of the 2010 draft out of Merritt Island (FL) High School. He spent five seasons in the Cubs organization and advanced to the Double-A level in 2014 and 2015 before being released.

Following today's doubleheader, the RedHawks will continue their six-game roadtrip with a three-game series against the Sioux City Explorers at Mercy Field at Lewis & Clark Park in Sioux City, IA on Monday-Wednesday.
