
RedBlacks Bring Back Linebacker Avery Williams

OTTAWA - The Ottawa REDBLACKS have re-signed linebacker Avery Williams, the club announced on Wednesday.
Since his debut in the capital in 2018, Williams has been a key piece of the REDBLACKS defense. While only dressing for 11 games in 2019 due to injuries, he still managed to record 69 defensive tackles. In 2019, he had his best game during CFL week 10 against the Ti-Cats, recording 12 tackles.
In 28 games with the REDBLACKS' organization, Williams has 112 defensive tackles, seven tackles on the special teams and two sacks to his account.
Williams, who played his collegiate football at Temple University, was a part of the 2016 conference championship team and the 2015 team that made an appearance in the conference championship. He finished his career at Temple with 154 tackles, three sacks, and one interception in 47 games played.
