Memphis Redbirds News Release
Memphis, Tenn. - The Memphis Redbirds will reveal new uniforms for the upcoming 2007 season on Saturday prior to the Cardinals Caravan.
The 'Birds will unveil the new uniforms and hats at 6:00 p.m. and follow up with a question and answer session with the Redbirds 2007 field staff, including new manager Chris Maloney and new hitting coach Rick Eckstein.
Memphis' new uniforms were designed by local branding company Oden. Before developing the uniforms Oden researched nearly 100 years of baseball uniforms, with a special emphasis on the St. Louis Cardinals. According to Oden the new uniforms blend existing Redbirds graphic elements for a more modern look, but they retain the classic feel so prevalent in the game of baseball.
"We didn't reinvent," Oden Senior Designer Spencer King said. "We revitalized the design to capture the energy of Redbirds baseball today, but with a nod to baseball's rich tradition and heritage."
Following the unveiling will be the Cardinals Caravan with Adam Wainwright, Chris Duncan, Tyler Johnson and John Rodriguez scheduled to appear. The players will answer questions from fans and sign autographs.
