Memphis Redbirds News Release

MEMPHIS, TN - On Tuesday, January 10 at 6:00 p.m. long-time Redbirds play-by-play man Steve Selby and former St. Louis Cardinal and Memphis Redbird Bo Hart will debut the Redbirds Hot Stove radio show on Sports 56 WHBQ.

Selby heads into his 13th season as the Redbirds broadcaster. He broke into baseball in 1986 and brings over 26 years of professional baseball experience to the Redbirds booth. Hart first reached the big leagues playing second base for the Cardinals in 2003. He spent parts of 2003-2006 playing for the Memphis Redbirds as well. Hart was known for his aggressive style of playing and his hard work on and off the field.

The show will run every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. until April 3. The guest list each week will include Cardinals players and organizational members and current and former Redbirds. Cardinals Beat Writer for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Joe Strauss will also have a weekly segment on the Hot Stove.

"I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to talk baseball in the dead of winter." Selby explained. "There's a lot to talk about coming off the Cardinals' World Series win, Pujols' departure and new managers taking over in St. Louis and Memphis. We'll also be able to keep Redbirds fans informed as we head toward Opening Day."

The inaugural lineup for the show will include interviews with World Series MVP and Cardinals third baseman David Freese as well as Cardinals first base coach and former Memphis Redbirds manager Chris Maloney.

"It's an honor to be a part of the Hot Stove radio show this offseason and to be able to call some of the Redbirds games in the upcoming season." Hart admits. "Steve is a veteran when it comes to broadcasting and I'm excited to have the opportunity to work with him. It's going to be fun; I'm glad to be rejoining the Redbirds and heading to AutoZone Park again."

Hart will also join the Redbirds on select regular season home games throughout 2012.

"We're all excited to have Bo as a part of the show, as well as working a lot of our home schedule." Selby said. "Bo always showed interest in broadcasting during his playing days and has dabbled in radio over the years. He was a fan favorite here at AutoZone Park and I know our fans will enjoy having him back in the family."
