Texas, Baylor, Texas State to Play at the Dell Diamond

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Dell Diamond will play host to four of the nation's top collegiate baseball programs during the upcoming 2012 season, Round Rock Express Baseball announced Friday. Baylor University and Texas State University will meet for a single game Wednesday, Feb. 22, while the University of Texas will host the University of California at Berkley for a four-game series Friday, March 30 through Sunday, April 1.
First pitch in the Baylor-Texas State game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT. Texas and California will play a single game Friday, March 30, at 7 p.m., a doubleheader Saturday, March 31, at 3:30 p.m., and a single game Sunday, April 1, at 1 p.m.
Tickets for all games are now on sale and are priced at $10 for adults and $5 for students and children age 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased through The Dell Diamond box office (512.255.2255 ext. 6) or online at www.RoundRockExpress.com.
All four programs participated in the 2011 NCAA Tournament; Texas and California both reached the College World Series last year. Texas owns six national titles (1949, 1950, 1975, 1983, 2002, 2005), while California owns two national titles (1947, 1957). Baylor has made three College World Series appearances (1977, 1978, 2005). The four programs have combined for 89 NCAA Tournament appearances.
The Longhorns are no strangers to The Dell Diamond, playing seven regular-season games and hosting an NCAA Regional in 2007. Texas and Texas State met in a regular-season game at the facility in 2008. Baylor and Texas also played an exhibition game at The Dell Diamond in the fall of 2008.
Following the Texas-California series, the Round Rock Express will host the back-to-back American League Champion Texas Rangers in an exhibition game Monday, April 2, at The Dell Diamond. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m., and tickets go on sale to the general public March 1.
The Express begin their 13th season and eighth season as a PCL member Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Iowa. Round Rock's home schedule begins Friday, April 13, as the Express host the Iowa Cubs and Omaha Storm Chasers in consecutive four-game series. Season ticket packages currently are available through The Dell Diamond box office or online. Individual game tickets for Express games go on sale March 3.
