Red Wolves Host South Georgia Tormenta FC for USL League One Final Rematch

Aiming for the third straight win at home, the Chattanooga Red Wolves take on South Georgia Tormenta FC for a rematch of the 2022 USL League One Final at CHI Memorial Stadium, which ended in a 2-1 victory for South Georgia. The clubs met three times during the regular season prior to the championship match on November 6, 2022: 2-1 Tormenta win on July 9; 2-1 Red Wolves win on August 20; and 2-0 win for Tormenta on October 15.

The Red Wolves enter the match coming off of an electrifying 3-1 victory over Lexington SC on Saturday, April 29th. After a scoreless first half, the offense picked up in the second with opportunities for both sides. Lexington struck first in the 78th minute, but the lead was short lived as Nico Cardona headed in his first goal of the season off a corner kick from Ryley Kraft in the 80th minute. Ropapa Mensah took advantage of a loose ball in the box two minutes later and notched his first goal as a Red Wolves player to take the lead. In extra time, Mayele Malango powered his way through the Lexington defense to secure the victory and the three points for Chattanooga with his first of the season as well.
