Rochester Red Wings News Release
GAME NOTES:
-THE LEAD: The Mud Hens hit three home runs in the first four innings as they jumped out to a 12-0 lead against Cole De Vries and the Wings and cruised to a 12-4 win on Monday night at Frontier Field in game three of this four-game set... The Mud Hens came into this series with just 7 road wins all season - last in the IL - but have taken two of the first three in this series... Despite the loss the Wings have still won 10 of their last 15 games and have a chance to split the series on Tuesday afternoon.
-REHABBERS: Trevor Plouffe went 0-for-3 with a walk and run scored in four plate appearances as the designated hitter Monday night in his first rehab game with the Red Wings. Plouffe has been sidelined with a concussion and strained left calf since May 22... Austin Jackson went 0-for-5 with a walk and 3 strikeouts in his first rehab game with the Mud Hens since hitting the disabled list on May 12 with a hamstring pull.
-Chris Colabello returned to the Red Wings lineup Tuesday after his third stint in the Major Leagues this season and went 3-for-5 with an RBI... It was Colabello's first game at Frontier Field since May 17, prior to his first promotion on May 22.
-James Beresford went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk in his Triple-A debut including a single to center in his first-ever Triple-A at-bat... Beresford was promoted to Rochester on Monday after hitting .316 with 19 RBI in 45 games with New Britain this season.
-Doug Bernier extended his season-long hit streak to 9 games with a two-run double to right-center in the 4th inning... Bernier is hitting .367 (11-30) over his 9-game streak... The Wings slick fielding shortstop also leads the team with 19 hits with runners in scoring position (19-for-61, 24 RBI) and is second on the club with 27 RBI... Deibinson Romero went 0-for-3 with a walk and 3 strikeouts as his 8-game hitting streak was snapped on Monday.
