
Red Wings Announce 3 Free Agent Signings

The Minnesota Twins announced today that RHP Yorman Bazardo, infielder Chase Lambin, and LHP Jake Stevens have been signed to minor league deals.
Bazardo, 26, spent last season in the Houston Astros organization playing for Triple-A Round Rock, going 4-5 with one save and a 3.87 ERA in 34 games (five starts). Bazardo is currently pitching for Tigers de Aragua in the Venezuela Winter League and has a 4-1 record with a 1.70 ERA in six starts. Bazardo has a 3-4 record with a 6.86 ERA in 25 games (eight starts) in the Major Leagues having spent time with the Houston Astros, Florida Marlins and Detroit Tigers.
Lambin, 31, spent last season with the Washington Nationals organization playing for Triple-A Syracuse, batting .252 with 15 home runs and 58 RBI in 136 games. Lambin was named to the mid-season International League All-Star team as the starting third baseman. The switch hitting Lambin is a career .272 minor league hitter and in 2008 he batted .300 with 14 home runs and 54 RBI for Triple-A Albuquerque.
Stevens, 25, spent last season with the San Francisco Giants organization playing for Double-A Richmond, going 4-4 with two saves and a 2.80 ERA in 46 games (three starts). Stevens was named to the mid-season Eastern League All-Star team. The left-handed reliever held opponents to a .238 batting average while left-handed hitters batted just .159 against him.

Joining Nieto in the dugout will be Pitching Coach Bobby Cuellar and Hitting Coach Floyd Rayford .
Bobby Cuellar, 58, will return for his sixth season as the Red Wings pitching coach and 26th year of instruction. Cuellar played 9 years of pro ball, appearing briefly in the majors with Texas in 1977, going 0-1 with a 1.29 ERA in four games.
This is Cuellar's seventh season as the Twins Triple-A pitching coach. Cuellar was the Major League pitching coach for Seattle (1995-1996), Montreal (1997-2000), and Texas (2001).
Floyd Rayford, 53, will begin his second season as the Red Wings hitting coach and his 12th year in the Minnesota Twins organization. Rayford, a long time Rochester fan favorite and better known as "Sugar Bear-Â, played for Rochester from 1980-1984, 1986 & 1987.
Tony Leo will return for his seventh season as the Red Wings trainer. Leo will be entering his 14th season in the Minnesota Twins organization.
