
Red Stars' Klein, Rapinoe, and Lloyd join USWNT Camp Roster

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - Chicago Red Stars midfielders Brittany Klein, Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe were named Tuesday to the U.S. Women's National Team's Sept. 21-Oct. 2 training camp at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
U.S. head coach Pia Sundhage named 26 players for this training session in preparation for an Oct. 29 match against reigning FIFA Women's World Cup champion Germany at Impuls Arena in Augsburg.
Klein is training with the hopes of earning her first international cap. Lloyd has 84 caps and 19 international goals, and Rapinoe 11 caps and four goals.
On Aug. 7, the Red Stars' Klein, Rapinoe and Brazilian Cristiane were named to the 2009 Women's Professional Soccer All-Star Team. The WPS All-Stars face Swedish league champions Umea IK at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at The Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo. The game is televised on Fox Soccer Channel, with pre-game coverage beginning at 4 p.m.
