New York Red Bulls II News Release

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - New York Red Bulls II extended its unbeaten streak to five games with a win on the road against Bethlehem Steel FC, 1-0. Brandon Allen's early goal was enough to improve Red Bulls II's perfect road record to 5-0-0.

With the victory, NYRB II advances to 7-1-3 with 24 points in 11 games this season. New York is 4-0-1 on its current undefeated run.

Red Bulls II scored the eventual game winner in the third minute. Gideon Baah, playing in his third USL game of the season, delivered a long ball from midfield towards Allen. The Homegrown Player collected the pass in the penalty area and buried it for his team-leading fourth goal of the season.

The match was delayed for an hour and a half due to inclement weather in the 71st minute. When the match resumed, both teams responded with end-to-end attacking soccer.

Bethlehem's Fred struck the crossbar with a shot in the 80th minute and Allen's one-on-one opportunity five minutes later was denied by goalkeeper Samir Badr, as NYRB II closed out the win to earn another three points away from home.

With their fifth road win of the season, NYRB II has equaled its road win total from the 2015 season, which was tied for the most road wins in the Eastern Conference.

New York has now recorded three consecutive clean sheets and Ryan Meara earned his fifth of the season. In total, Red Bulls II has shutout its opponents in seven out of 11 games this year.

Next week, Red Bulls II returns home to host Harrisburg City Islanders at Red Bull Arena on Thursday, June 9 at 7 p.m. ET.
