May 21, 2016 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
New York Red Bulls II News Release
MONTREAL - New York Red Bulls II defeated FC Montreal, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon on a late goal from Junior Flemmings. NYRB II improves to 5-1-3 on the season, and remains a perfect 4-0-0 on the road this season.
After a hard-fought game, Flemmings was able to find the back of the net in the 90th minute, finishing off a long cross from Konrad Plewa on the right wing.
Ryan Meara, on loan from MLS, earned the shutout. The clean sheet was the goalkeeper's third of the season.
Former Red Bulls Academy player David Najem made his NYRB II debut as a sub in the 90th minute. Najem signed with NYRB II earlier this week.
New York Red Bulls II is back in action next weekend as part of a Red Bull Arena double header. NYRB II will face the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at 10 p.m., after the New York Red Bulls face Toronto FC in MLS action at 7 p.m.
