
Red Bulls Add Barrieu and Guter to Team Staff

SECAUCUS, NJ (Friday, December 1, 2006) - Red Bull New York announced today that effective January 1, 2007, Pierre Barrieu will become the team's Fitness Coach while Rick Guter will become the team's Head Athletic Trainer.
Barrieu joins the Red Bulls after four years with the U.S. Men's National Team, serving as their Fitness Coach. In the past, Barrieu, who is board-certified and holds a Master's Degree in Sports Sciences from the University of Nancy in France, was the strength and conditioning coach for the University of Virginia's men's soccer team, men's and women's tennis teams and was an assistant for the football team. He has also helped train soccer clubs throughout Europe including AS Nancy and FC Metz in France and Real Sociedad in Spain.
Guter comes to the Red Bulls after spending a year as Head Athletic Trainer with the Columbus Crew, where he was recognized as MLS' Top Athletic Trainer. Prior to that, Guter spent three years with Commonwealth Orthopedics Therapy in Vienna, Va., as a physical therapist and athletic trainer. Guter also served as the Head Athletic Trainer for D.C. United from 1996-2002 and was in that same position on the U.S. National Team's staff from 1995-1996.
