Rechlicz Joins Mallards

MOLINE, Ill. (November 13, 2009) - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, today announced that the team has signed right wing Marc Rechlicz and that right wing Matt Armstrong has been released. Per Mallards team policy contract terms were not disclosed.

Rechlisz, 20, joins the Mallards after playing two games earlier this season with the ECHL's Johnstown Chiefs. Rechlicz last year recorded 60 penalty minutes in 15 games with the Central Hockey League's Odessa Jackalopes. Two seasons ago the 6' 4", 193-pound Milwaukee native played in 37 games with the Chicoutimi Sagueneens of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and had 52 penalty minutes.

Armstrong did not record a point while playing in the Mallards' first six games of the season.

The Mallards play road games tonight in Fort Wayne at 7:05 p.m. and tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. in Bloomington before returning home for a rematch with Bloomington Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. The first 1,000 fans through the doors for that game will receive a free Mallards official game puck courtesy of Major League Texting. In honor of Veterans' Day, the Mallards have teamed with Coors Light to make tickets to that game available to active military personnel and veterans for the special discounted price of just $9 when purchased at the i wireless Center box office courtesy. Fans who purchase tickets to Sunday's game at the i wireless Center box office and donate a non-perishable food item receive $1 off the ticket price. Food donations benefit the River Bend Food Bank. After the game fans can lace up their skates and join the Mallards on the ice for the team's first Family Skate Night of the season. Fans can join the Mallards at the Bier Stube in Moline after the Flock departs the i wireless Center Sunday for a post-game team event.

The i wireless Center box office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. through the end of the second period.
