Real Salt Lake to Play in Nationally Televised FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup Final

SANDY, Utah (Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013) - Real Salt Lake will play in the nationally televised FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup Final against Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday. The match will kickoff at 6 p.m. MT at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium and will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network.

RSL qualified for Saturday's Desert Diamond Cup Final on Wednesday night, when it erased a 1-2 deficit in the game's final three minutes to beat the New England Revolution 3-2. The Claret-and-Cobalt's spot in the DDC Final was clinched when Seattle beat New York 2-0 in the late game on Wednesday.

Real Salt Lake will return to Utah following Saturday's DDC final, traveling back to Salt Lake City on Sunday morning. The Claret-and-Cobalt will begin preparing early next week for its March 3 season opener at defending Supporters' Shield winner San Jose Earthquakes.

APPLICATIONS FOR MEDIA CREDENTIALS FOR 2013 MLS SEASON DUE FRIDAY

Real Salt Lake will accept media credential applications for the 2013 Major League Soccer season until 5 p.m. MT on Friday. Media members may apply for season-long access by using the following link: https://realsaltlake2013.iworldreg.com/public/apply/media

Applications that are submitted by the deadline and approved by the RSL Communications Department will be received in time for pickup at Rio Tinto Stadium in the club's Media Services office beginning on Monday, March 11 (10 am - 4 pm each business day) . In addition, credentials can be picked up prior to the club's home opener on Saturday, March 16 against the Colorado Rapids at the Rio Tinto Stadium Media Will Call window, located at the West Side Box Office (to open at 2:00 p.m. prior to the now 4:00 p.m. kickoff).
