SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake FW Olmes Garcia has been named MLS Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for Week 15 of the 2013 MLS season.

Garcia came off the bench in the 61st minute and scored in the 84th minute and second-half stoppage time to give RSL a 3-1 win over the LA Galaxy at Rio Tinto Stadium last Saturday. The 20-year-old Colombian attacker now has four goals in 401 MLS minutes this season, giving him 0.90 goals per 90 minutes, the best rate in the league for all players with more than one goal. He has also hit the post an astonishing four times this season.

This is the first Player of the Week honor for a Real Salt Lake player this year. The last time a RSL player won the award was in July 2012, when FW Alvaro Saborio was honored for a hat trick performance in the Claret-and-Cobalt's 3-0 win over the Portland Timbers on July 7, 2012. This is the 20th time in RSL history that a Claret-and-Cobalt player has been named Player of the Week.

The MLS Player of the Week award is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from NASR. The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media. More information and membership information can be found at www.soccerreporters.com.
