Real Monarchs SLC Travel to Texas to Face San Antonio FC

HERRIMAN, Utah - Real Monarchs SLC (13-4-2, 41 points, 1 West) is set to travel to Texas to face San Antonio FC on Saturday, July 21st at 6:30 p.m. MT from Toyota Field. Interim Head Coach Jamison Olave and staff will look to topple San Antonio for the first time since the 2016 season in Saturday's visit.

Las season, SAFC was the lone Western Conference opponent the Monarchs failed to beat en-route to claiming the 2017 USL Regular-Season Championship Shield in a historic season. Drawing with the Texas side 2-2 midway through the season gave way to a 1-2 defeat in early-September at Rio Tinto Stadium, the only loss the Monarchs suffered at home over the course of the regular-season.

The Monarchs recently broke a two-match winless run by beating Seattle Sounders FC 2 at Zions Bank Stadium last Saturday. Scoring his second goal of the season in the first half was MF Charlie Adams before a 70th minute strike from MF Sebastian Velasquez solidified the 2-0 scoreline. With the win, the Monarchs remain undefeated on home soil in 2018 with an 8-0-1 home record. Additionally, GK Jake Leeker recorded his team-leading sixth shutout of the season to notch the team's 10th shutout on the year.
