
Real Monarchs Fall 1-0 to Rio Grande Valley FC

EDINBURG, Texas - Real Monarchs (1-4-2, 5 points) fell 1-0 to Rio Grande Valley FC Toros at H-E-B Park on Saturday night thanks to a second-half goal from Rio Grande Valley FC's Wan Kuzain.
In an evenly matched first half, both sides struggled offensively. Rio Grande Valley FC recorded just three shots, while the Monarchs tallied one, both failing to find the back of the net. The Toros started the second half on the front foot with a flurry of chances that ended with the breakthrough goal in the 60th minute by Kuzain.
As the Monarchs continued to push for the equalizer in the 81st minute, defender Timi Sobowale received a straight red for a tackle in the box, leaving the Monarchs with 10 men the rest of the way. The match ended 1-0 in favor of Rio Grande Valley FC.
