Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa-School and hockey are both about to begin again in the Cedar Valley, and this weekend at Young Arena, Waterloo Black Hawks fans can help Tommy Hawk collect school supplies for less fortunate children while enjoying a preview of the coming season.
Friday evening, Waterloo plays a spit squad scrimmage against the Madison Capitols at 5:05 p.m. A Saturday afternoon matchup between the Hawks and Caps will be at 3:05 p.m. Both contests will be open to the public free of change.
Waterloo mascot Tommy Hawk encourages fans to put all or some of the savings on admission toward the purchase of school supplies, which he will be collecting inside the main entrance starting one hour before each scrimmage. For a list of useful items, please see the accompanying document. All supplies will be passed on to Waterloo Community Schools.
