Reading Express News Release
Reading, Pa. (June 3, 2011) - Tickets to the Reading Express' first-round IFL playoff game are now on sale to the general public. The Express will host the playoff game on Saturday, June 18, at the Sovereign Center. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
The ticket pricing structure for the playoffs is a break from the usual fare. For this playoff game, all tickets are priced at just $20. There is a special group rate of $15 per ticket for groups of just six or more.
Tickets will be sold on a "best available" basis, unless otherwise requested by fans. This tact is designed to bring the fans as close to the action as they can get.
"We've essentially cut the prices on all the best seats in the arena, and will concentrate on selling those first for the playoff game," said Tim Glase, general manager of the Reading Express. "We really hope to create as much energy as close to field-level as we can."
Season-ticket holders were given first chance to buy playoff tickets, and the response to the new pricing structure has been very favorable.
"We're pleased with the initial response and the sales so far," added Glase. "This playoff game is a great opportunity for us to test a new ticket-pricing structure that we can consider for the entire 2012 season. We really like the concept; it's just a matter of finding a dial setting that best serves the fans and the organization. We'll assess the success we have during this playoff game and make decisions on 2012 accordingly."
To order your tickets, please call the Reading Express at 610.372.7277 or stop by the Sovereign Center box office. The special Group Rate offer is valid through Friday, June 17, and can only be purchased through the Reading Express office.
$1 Parking: The Reading Express is also excited to announce that parking will cost $1 for this playoff game, thanks to the Reading Parking Authority.
The Express earned the opportunity to host a first-round playoff game by winning the IFL's Atlantic Division title. The opponent on June 18 is still to be determined. With two games left in the regular season, a lot of attention will be on the Green Bay Blizzard, Bloomington Extreme, Chicago Slaughter and Omaha Beef. One of those teams will be making the trip to Reading, Pa., for the June 18 game.
The Reading Express are the 2011 IFL Atlantic Division Champions. The team currently has a 7-5 record this season, and has a guaranteed home game in the 2011 IFL Playoffs which is set for June 18, 2011.
The Reading Express are one of the most established franchises in indoor football. In five full seasons, the team has amassed an overall record of 64-20 with four playoff appearances, two conference titles and the 2009 AIFA National Championship.
