Reading Express News Release
Reading, Pa. (September 1, 2011) - The Reading Express today announced the schedule of Open Tryouts leading up to the 2012 season, which marks the team's second campaign in the Indoor Football League.
The Reading Express are one of the premier organizations in indoor professional football. The team has played a total of 100 games over the last six seasons. The Express have compiled an impressive 73-27 record, en route to five division championships, two conference championships and the 2009 AIFA National Championship. In their first season in the IFL, the team captured the Atlantic Division title and advanced to the second-round of the IFL Playoffs.
The first tryout for the 2012 squad is set for Saturday, November 12. The next two tryouts will also be held on the second Saturday of the month, with December 10 and January 14 rounding out the schedule.
The open tryouts will once again be held at the Sinking Spring Family YMCA, the official training center of the Express. In holding the tryouts at the YMCA, the Express will benefit greatly in having the Parisi Speed School involved in the evaluation process.
"These tryouts are going to be very important in shaping our football team in 2012," said new Head Coach Mark Steinmeyer. "We anticipate a lot of guys from last year's team to move up to the AFL or other higher leagues next season. . 40-yard Dash
. Short Shuttle
. Vertical Leap
. Bench Press
. Three Cone Drill
