March 19, 2008 - Premier Basketball League (PBL)
Rochester RazorSharks News Release
(Rochester, NY)...RazorSharks' Owner and General Manager, Orest Hrywnak has nominated Chris Iversen, Vice President of Basketball and Game Day Operations, to attend the 1st annual "ROC City Rising 2008" event. This annual event was formed together by two premier young professional organizations, the ROC City Coalition and the Eastman Young Professionals. Combined by their efforts, tonight's event will highlight the rising stars in our community and enable young professionals to network and meet Rochester's most establish leaders.
"The last 3 years, Chris's day-to-day responsibilities of game day operations and overseeing the front office have exemplified the qualities of a strong leader in this community," said Owner and GM, Orest Hrywnak.
Chris Iversen, a 2005 St. John Fisher College graduate, began with the RazorSharks as an intern during the team's inception in the spring of 2005. By the beginning of the team's first season in the American Basketball Association (ABA), he became the Director of Game Day Operations. The following 2006-2007 season, the team's last with the ABA, Iversen became the Vice President of Game Day Operations. Now in his 3rd year with the team, Chris is the Vice President of Basketball and Game Day Operations as the team has moved to the Premier Basketball League (PBL).
"We are considered to be a well-established franchise in this league and that stems from how well-organized Chris is," said RazorSharks Head Coach, Rod Baker. "Nobody gets through game days the way he does and that can be contributed to his preparation."
Mayor Robert Duffy, County Executive Maggie Brooks, Susan Robfogel (Chair of the Eastman House Board of Trustees), and Arunas Chesonis (CEO of PAETEC) have been selected as Honorary Host Committee members for ROC City Rising 2008.
